How is VAT paid & refunded on my orders? - EU buyer guide
Understanding VAT for EU orders
VAT on EU orders depends on the location from which the seller ships the products.
For orders shipping to France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland.
At the time of check out:
-
If your order is sourced domestically:
- At the time of the check out you will be charged with local VAT rate.
-
If your order is sourced internationally:
- At the time of the check out you wont be charged with VAT.
💡 If you would rather not pay for VAT, you can go to your account settings and remove your own country from the list under “shopping preferences”, meaning your order will always be purchased internationally.
- If your order is partially fulfilled domestically and partially fulfilled internationally, you will be charged VAT at the time of the check out only for the domestic part of the order.
For orders shipping to The Netherlands
As a Dutch company with local VAT registration, Qogita always charges 21% VAT to Dutch buyers, as required by law.
For orders shipping to Austria, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia
Given Qogita does not have a local VAT registered in these regions, it is not possible to source from domestic suppliers due to tax evasion rules. Hence you can only order from international suppliers in other countries.
Given these will always be international orders, you won’t be charged with VAT.
